We pride ourselves on being transparent about the ingredients we use and why we use them. Every ingredient we use is thoughtfully considered for its benefits to you, its interaction with other ingredients, and its effects on the planet - from growing to harvesting to shipping. The benefit of being in full control of our formulation and production process is that we can quickly adapt our formulas and processes as we learn more. And we are always learning more!

Simmondsia chinensis

Jojoba

Often mistakenly referred to as an oil, it’s actually liquid wax ester. On a Molecular level, jojoba is very similar to human sebum. It’s non-allergenic and will not clog pores. It conditions hair and scalp, helps alleviate dry scalp conditions and gives hair manageability.

Meadowseed Oil

Containing over 98% long-chain fatty acids, Meadowfoam Seed Oil coats the hair, retaining moisture, adding shine and protecting against the suns harmful UV rays.

Persea Americana

Avocado Oil

Rich in antioxidants, minerals, essential fatty acids and Vitamins A, B-5 and E, Avocado Oil helps moisturize, strengthen a repair hair.

Prunus armeniaca L.

Apricot Kernel Oil

Contains and abundance of linoleic and oleic fatty acids, as well as Vitamins A, C, E and K, and minerals, it makes hair and scalp soft and pliable, adds and helps retain moisture in scalp and hair, and helps sooth and heal scalp irritations.

Argania spinos

Argan Oil

Containing medium-chain fatty acids, primarily Oleic and Linoleic acids, and powerful antioxidants, including an abundance of Vitamin E, Argan Oil helps keep your hair moisturized and protects against styling damage and damage caused by heat and sun exposure. This can result in less breakage, reduced frizziness and increased shine.

Prunus Amygdalus Dulcis

Sweet Almond Oil

Containing protein, omega-9 fatty acids and Vitamin E, Almond oil is an emollient, filling in gaps in your hair at a cellular level. Over time, it softens the texture, strengthens and adds shine to hair. Almond oil has been used for centuries to soothe and heal dry scalp conditions.

Vitellaria paradoxa

Shea Butter

Composed of five fatty acids, predominately stearic and oleic acids Shea Butter is also rich in vitamins A and E. It moisturizes hair, adds shine and reduces frizz.

Euphorbia antisyphilitica

Candelilla Wax

A vegetable wax derived from the leaves and stems of Euphorbia cerifera, a small wild shrub that helps seal in moisture and adds texture and structure for styling. It also offers protection against heat and harsh environmental stressors.

Tussilago farfara

Coltsfoot

Coltsfoot contains an abundance of mucilage, minerals, silica, sulfur and plant proteins which all work together to help add sheen, body, repair the hair shaft, improve elasticity, and promote hair growth. Best used for: breakage, damage, hair loss

Aloe barbadensis

Aloe  Vera

Aloe Vera makes hair more manageable, smoother, silkier, and healthier. Also conditions, moisturizes and creates a smooth shine. Best used for: body, luster, manageability

Arctium lappa

Burdock Root

Burdock root strengthens hair follicles to promote healthy hair growth and improve the overall condition of hair. The silica and phytosterols in burdock help soothe irritated scalp conditions like dandruff, decrease breakage and repair hair while adding sheen, hydration & luster. The mucilage in this  beneficial root also helps add “slip” to your hair to make detangling easier. Best used for: dry hair & scalp; oily hair & scalp; scalp conditions*; hair loss & thinning; tangles; body & luster 

Calendula officinalis

Calendula

Calendula is soothing to sensitive scalps. It is also rich in plant minerals that protect the hair from free radicals, and the scalp from bacterial growth. A calendula hair rinse conditions, adds shine and can be used to create warm highlights. Best used for: dry hair & scalp; oily hair & scalp; scalp conditions*, blonde highlights; red highlights

Taraxacum officinale

Dandelion

Dandelion is a root rich in iron, helps treat dandruff and dry hair issues. Dandelion leaves are loaded with minerals and vitamins, especially vitamin A, that help balance sebum. Dandelion infusions have been used to add sheen and light highlights to hair. Best used for: body, luster and highlights

Equisetum arvense

Horsetail

Horsetail Is nourishing and hydrating, stimulates blood vessels in the scalp and has been used for centuries as a hair growth herb. The silica in horsetail helps to keep hair strong and adds shine and luster to hair. Best used for: dry hair & scalp; oily hair & scalp; scalp conditions*; body & luster; hair loss & thinning

Lavendula officinalis

Lavender

Lavender has anti-inflammatory, anti-bacterial, anti-fungal and antiseptic properties that help with hair loss, shedding and inflammatory scalp conditions. Its ability to balance oil production makes it a great hair care herb for all hair types. Best used for: dry hair & scalp; oily hair & scalp; scalp conditions*; hair loss & thinning

Urtica dioica

Nettle

Nettle stimulates the scalp, improves circulation, and helps promote fuller, more radiant hair. Nettles have a long-standing reputation for preventing hair loss and making the hair soft and shiny. Nettle, an excellent hair conditioner, is rich in minerals and plant hormones, is tonic and astringent and gives a healthy gloss to hair. Nettle is known to be a remedy for oily hair, dandruff, and hair shaft breakage. Best used for: dry hair and scalp; oily hair and scalp; scalp conditions*; hair loss & thinning; dark highlights; body & luster

Rosa acicularis

Rose hips

Rosehips are packed full of Vitamin C which is known to strengthen the hair shaft and prevent breakage. Also can be used to brighten red hair. Best used for: red highlights; strengthening hair

Rosemarinus officinalis

Rosemary

Rosemary encourages hair growth by improving blood flow to the scalp, encourages strong, healthy hair, stimulates growth, increases manageability and adds shine. The stimulating and revitalizing properties of rosemary help condition both hair and scalp. Best used for: oily hair & scalp; scalp conditions*; hair loss & thinning; dark highlights; body & luster 

Nasturtium officinale

Watercress

Watercress is a mild acid that contains many minerals, including iron and phosphorus. It revitalizes oily hair, removes oil and soap residue and gets hair really clean. It has also been used to prevent hair loss due to its high content of zinc and biotin. Best used for: oily hair & scalp; hair loss & thinning

Achillea millefolium

Yarrow

Yarrow is effective for treating dandruff, itchiness, scalp irritation and oily scalp. It has also been shown to help counteract hair loss. Regular use of a strong yarrow tea will lighten hair. Best used for: oily hair & scalp 

Chenopodium quinoa

Hydrolyzed Quinoa Protein

Quinoa is a complete protein, containing seventeen amino acids, including all eight essential amino acids. The long-chain proteins are hydrolyzed using enzymes to break down into smaller strands that readily absorb into the hair shaft, providing moisture retention, increased elasticity, detangling and styling ease.

Solum Diatomeae

A white clay-like powder that is composed of the fossilized remains of marine plankton. It is a source of Silica, which is required from the body for collagen formation. It also contains minerals such as calcium, magnesium, zinc, copper, selenium and phosphorous

Behentrimonium methosulfate

Despite its name, it is a non-sulfate. Derived by natural technology from Rapeseed oil, it penetrates the hair shaft, moisturizing and conditioning without coating the scalp or causing buildup. It is gentle and considered safe for skin and hair.

Guar hydroxypropyltrimonium chloride

An organic compound derived by natural technology from guar gum, it gives conditioning properties to shampoos. It is water-soluble, non-irritating and biodegradable.

Dehydroxanthan gum

Derived by natural technology from fermented xanthan gum, it provides long-lasting hold under humid conditions, without the tack and flaking often associated with gels.

Sodium Benzoate and Gluconolactone

A preservative with bacteriostatic and fungistatic properties, Sodium Benzoate, in concert with Gluconolactone, is accepted by Eco-cert as a safe preservation system in natural and certified organic products. Gluconolactone is a gluten-free fermented starch derived from non genetically-modified corn via a fermentation process with non genetically-modified microorganisms, It is generally considered suitable for all skin types, including sensitive skin, and is non-irritating.
